I became a mother while living in Geneva, far from family, building a career, and learning how to survive on broken sleep.
I was a working mother of two, navigating days filled with meetings and nights filled with feedings and small victories no one sees. The highs were magical. The lows were exhausting.
I remember holding my baby at three in the morning, half awake, trying to enjoy the moment while counting the minutes until daylight. I wanted to be present. I wanted to soak it all in. But I was tired. Really tired.
And in those moments, even the smallest task felt heavy. Changing clothes. Dressing again. Fumbling in the dark. Nothing dramatic. But everything added up.
That is where Odevie was born.
"When beautiful stopped being practical"
Like many parents, I was drawn to beautiful baby clothes. Premium brands. Elegant pieces. Thoughtfully styled collections.
But quickly, frustration set in. Sleeves that were too narrow for tiny hands. Buttons everywhere. Front, back, shoulder, leg. Fabrics that looked lovely but felt stiff, fragile, or complicated.
Fits that ran small and required effort, patience, and time I did not have. Those clothes became “occasion only” pieces. Saved for visits, photos, or special moments. Too complicated for everyday life. Too uncomfortable for the baby. Too stressful for me.
And I realized something felt wrong.
Why should beautiful baby clothes be hard to wear, hard to care for, or hard to live in when they are so expensive to buy?
